DayX has no editorial team and no publisher. Behind this site is one person — and a simple idea.
How it all started
The honest answer: with a zombie novel. Not too long ago, I read “Day by Day Armageddon” by J. L. Bourne. Yes — zombies. But if you ignore them, the book asks a serious question: What happens when familiar structures suddenly collapse? No electricity, no mobile network, no fully stocked supermarket.
This question wouldn’t let me go. And I found the best answers not in novels — but in official brochures from eight European countries. Well done, well documented. But: scattered, hard to read, and buried as PDFs. Does anyone really bother to read stuff like that in their free time?
That is exactly what DayX is for: These answers in one place. As tools that anyone can use — not as a stack of paper.
What DayX stands for
- Only official sources. Every number and every tip comes from official brochures — you can see exactly which ones in the Methodology.
- Free and without data collection. Your entries stay on your device. No account, no advertising, no tracking.
- Calm instead of sensational. Preparedness is not the end of the world. It is common sense — like a smoke detector or the first aid kit in your car.
Who is behind it
I am Markus and have been working with the web for over 20 years. DayX is not politics, nor am I a “prepper” — I just thought this tool should exist, so I built it.
