DayX uses no cookies. There are no user accounts, no advertising, no tracking, and no sharing of data with third parties. No content is loaded from external servers — no Google fonts, no maps, no social media buttons.
Your answers in the preparedness check, in the supply list, and in the emergency kit list do not leave your device. They are not transmitted to us.
The following sections describe in detail which data is nevertheless generated and why.

2 · Website Access (Server Logs)
With every visit to a page, your browser transmits technically necessary data to our server. This data is stored in log files:
- IP address
- Date and time of access
- Accessed address
- Amount of data transferred and notification of successful retrieval
- Browser type and operating system
- If applicable, the previously visited page
This data is technically necessary for the operation of the website. It serves to deliver the pages, ensure system security, and troubleshoot errors. This data is not merged with other data, nor is it evaluated to identify you personally.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the secure and trouble-free operation of the website.
Storage duration: 14 days
Processor: The website is hosted by Hetzner. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
3 · Encryption
This website is delivered exclusively via an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Data that you send to us cannot easily be intercepted by third parties.
4 · Visitor Analytics
We count how often our pages are accessed. For this, we use Koko Analytics, software that runs entirely on our own server. No data is transmitted to third parties.
The counting works without cookies and without recognition. It only stores which page was accessed how often and — if available — which website referred you. IP addresses are not stored. It is not possible to draw conclusions about individual persons.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to see which content is read in order to improve the website.

5 · Technical Metrics for Display
To improve loading speed, the website collects a small amount of technical metrics regarding the display: your browser’s window size and the position of individual elements on the page. These values are only stored in aggregated form, contain no personal information, and do not leave our server.
Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technical optimization of the website.
6 · Storage on Your Device
The preparedness check, the supply list, and the emergency kit list save your inputs exclusively locally in your browser (in so-called Local Storage). This data is not transmitted to us and cannot be viewed by us.
You can delete this storage yourself at any time by clearing the website data for day-x.eu in your browser. For the interactive sections, the “Start over” button is also available for this purpose.
These are not cookies. There is no recognition and no transmission.
7 · Contact
If you write us an email, we process your information exclusively to handle your request. Your message will be deleted as soon as it is no longer required and no statutory retention obligations prevent this.

8 · What We Do Not Do
For clarification, because many websites handle this differently:
- No cookies — therefore there is no cookie banner on DayX
- No user accounts and no login
- No advertising, no sponsors, no affiliate programs
- No social networks, no “Like” buttons, no embedded content
- No fonts or scripts from external servers
- No sharing of your data with third parties, except for the processor mentioned in section 2
- No transmission to countries outside the European Union
- No automated decision-making and no profiling

Privacy in the DayX app
The Android app DayX is a standalone application. This section applies to the app; for the day-x.eu website, see the general privacy policy.
The short version
The app collects no data, transmits nothing to us or to third parties, and has no internet access. It requests no Android permissions at all — not even permission to use the network. All content is contained in the app itself and is never downloaded.
There are no user accounts, no advertising, no tracking, no analytics and no crash reporting.
What is stored on your device
Your entries in the emergency check, the supply list, the emergency backpack list, your contacts and the diary are stored on your device only. We cannot see them.
No cloud backup takes place: the app is configured so that Android includes it in neither cloud backup nor device transfer. If you change phones or delete the app, this data is gone.
You can remove your data at any time — item by item within the app, or entirely through the Android settings (Storage → Clear data).
If you send something yourself
The app offers to send your diary or a list. When you do this, the app opens the Android share dialogue; the transfer itself is carried out by the program you choose, such as your email app. The DayX app transmits nothing and does not learn where you send it. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies from that point on.
Purchase through the Google Play Store
The purchase is handled by Google. We receive no personal data about purchasers from Google, only aggregated sales figures. Google’s privacy policy applies.
